What to Check After Flying Through Wildfire Smoke
After encountering record-dense smoke on his way to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, A&P mechanic, pilot and aircraft owner Jeff Simon took a closer look at the potential effects on his aircraft and determined the best maintenance routine.
In his latest AOPA Aircraft Maintenance article, Simon shares what insights he learned speaking with the Phillips 66® Lubricants team, including how ashless dispersant aviation oils, such as Phillips 66 X/C® 20W-50, help manage contaminants and protect the engine.
As Jeff mentions in his article, “The bottom line is that you should tailor your maintenance to the environmental conditions in which you are flying.”
