It has been found that calling 8-1-1 before digging increases one’s chances of avoiding incidents, injuries, environmental harm, and event death.

811 is a national call-before-you-dig phone number that connects individual to a central call center where they can provide information about their excavation project. Whether the project is small or large, there is no limit. Anyone who plans to dig must contact their states 811 a few days before the digging project. The call center then notifies the appropriate utility companies to come and mark the location of their underground lines. You may begin digging once you have confirmed all utilities at your worksite have been confirmed and your states recommended wait period has passed.
