Sustainable Aviation Fuel
Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is a lower-carbon intensity fuel that can be produced from waste-based feedstocks, such as used cooking oil and greases. As a drop-in fuel, SAF can be blended with conventional jet fuel and used in existing aircraft and airport infrastructure without modification.
Compared with conventional jet fuel, SAF can reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by up to 80%, making it an important tool for aviation decarbonization and helping customers meet evolving operational and sustainability goals.
